Guittard 72% Bittersweet Chocolate Couverture Wafers, 1 Pound, (Pack of 2) (Grocery) I purchased this item because Ghirardelli does not make the 72% dark chocolate wafers anymore. I am happy to find wafers in the 72% dark. I prefer the wafers to chips because they are a little bigger and to bars because they are not messy since I don't have to break them apart. I don't cook with them. I use them as a snack with nuts. I have to buy them online so that means I have to plan ahead but atleast I have found a replacement. I have never tried the E Guittard brand before but I am pleased with this product. I love it, my family loves it. However, I recently learned that carageenan, which is a seaweed-based thickener, is a very unhealthy product. At first thought one might say, but it's seaweed! Seaweed is good for you! Yes, seaweed is good for many people who aren't iodine-sensitive or allergic. Carageenan is processed with a highly alkaline chemical that can strip the paint off of an automobile. Carageenan is now being found to contribute to IBS and Colitis as well as other maladies. (do a search on carageenan side effects) It would be great if all the natural food companies stopped using carageenan, xanthan and guar gums and instead develop ways to utilize CHIA SEEDS as a healthy, natural thickener. Chia seeds absorb 10x their weight in water and make an excelletn thickener. Surely, there is a way for that to be parlayed into a healthful food thickener in the future. This review is from: Living Harvest Tempt Hemp Milk, Chocolate, 32-Ounce Containers (Pack of 12) (Grocery) The quality of the hemp milk is great - a nice alternative to soy milk - as noted on the manfacturers packaging, hemp is generally non allergenic and rich in protein. We use it in coffee and our kids drink it in place of regular chocolate milk and love it - that's the real test. It's the best of the various hempmilk brands we've tried. Its also rich in Omega fatty acids. Great to find this on Amazon and set up for autodistribution with "Subscribe & Save" - the extra 15% discount brings ths in line with ocal store pricing, and Amazon ships it to our doore regularly. We find it on sale from time to time at retail (as noted, Whole Foods and PCC sometimes offer the containers for less than $3 each).
