I love these chips. They are the healthy indulgence- dark chocolate. Good enough to eat straight from the bag as a little snack. Melt well for baking. But don't buy them here. Check Walmart- they are less than 2.50 a pack. Much better value than this 12 pack deal. I usually find Amazon to be a great deal, but this time it just isn't.

I love these chocolate chips. They are the highest cocoa content chips that you can buy at a regular store. Most other chips are in the 40-50% range. They taste amazing whether you eat them plain or use them for cookies. The only thing better is criollo chocolate which is significantly more expensive.

The only downside is that they put a small amount of milk fat in them (1-2% of the content according to my telephone call to Ghirardelli), so they are not vegan. Otherwise they are a significant upgrade over the old Ghirardelli double chocolate chips which were around 54% cocoa.

Occasionally a bag of chocolate chips will get grainy and taste bad. I'm not sure if this is due to shipping or storing it in a place that is too warm (or too cold). Fortunately, in my experience this is rare. This has happened when I tried ordering 3.5 pound bags of these chips. That is unfortunate as buying the 3.5 pound bags can be 30% cheaper.

Here in El Paso, Ghirardelli Chocolate 60% Cacao Bittersweet is almost impossible to find. So I was so pleased to find it on Amazon. I make the best fudge ever with it, but we also eat an ounce or so of these chocolate chips for dessert most evenings. Thanks Amazon for having baking stuff, too!

Be advised - these need to be stored in the freezer! If you do not they will get dry and moldy. You can take them right from the freezer and pop'm in the micro for 30 seconds. When you heat them up all the choco chips melt and make for a moist and delicious chocolate treat! Plus they are only 1 point on WW and delicious enough that your kids will love them too. The nutritional value makes them well worth the cost! Enjoy!

The Vitatops that I purchase from the store are fresher than the ones I get online. I would think it would be the opposite. The ones ordered online aren't as moist or fluffy as the ones purchased from the store. However, there are more flavors to select online (for those who count ww points plus: the choc pom vitatops are 2 ww points plus vs. 3 points plus for the regular choc ones, so I forego some moistness for a lower point product).

I only seem to like chocolate Vita Tops, and this one is my favorite. I love the balance of the rich chocolate taste and the sweetness of the pomegranate. My next favorite after this one would be the Fudgy Peanut Butter variety. I love that you can get these from Amazon with free shipping instead of ordering direct from Vitalicious.

I am so pleased with this book! I have been looking for awhile for something that gave instructions for using different colors in molded chocolates and this one had it. It has a wealth of information and I have been like a kid with a new toy going through it, it's exciting. I highly recommned this book.
